Ever since Tron came out, all we’ve been wanting are laser light-inspired everything. From helmets to clothes and motorcycles, everything seemed to be cooler when illuminated. Now that Glow headphones have entered the picture, it looks like we’re just a few steps away from living in a Tron universe. Okay, okay. This sounds more like a gimmick than it is a practical item to own but hey, hear us out first. By the end of this post, you might find yourself ordering a pair — or ten. Glow in the dark Right off the bat, the first thing that drew us to Glow headphones is that well, it glows in the dark. They’ve partnered with Fibrance, the same folks who brought you Gorilla Glass in order to create light-diffusing, highly flexible wires. So whether you’re jogging through a dark tunnel or you’re better making beats in a pitch dark room, these headphones are trusty companions. Of course any gadget posted in BroSome isn’t just one-dimensional. There’s more to this sound cans that meets the eye. World’s first smart headphones The Glow headphones are the world’s first smart headphones. I know right? What else could you expect these ear buds could do apart from serve you with some crisp sound? Well for starters, they don’t only light up. They pulse to the beat of the music and soon, your heart. No kidding. The developers did find a way of syncing the beats to its illumination. A little gimmicky but who cares? It’s cool and you know it. Another is it comes with a circular controller pad that lets you navigate through your smartphone. Whether you need to send a quick message, read emails or voice command the hell out of your mobile device. It doesn’t stop there. Rafal and his team are looking into adding advanced features, as auto messaging for when your motion sensors, speed and schedule indicate that you are in a movie house or in a moving vehicle. Pretty sweet, right? Mindfully designed Another thing we love about the Glow headphones is that it’s mindfully designed. The ear buds are angled inside the ear, so you can trust you could hear more of the music and less of the yapping by that noisy lady on the train. Plus, they’ve teamed up with the brilliants minds behind Sennheiser so it doesn’t only look good. It sounds good. The pair is also made with rubber so it’s an altogether snug and lightweight fit perfect for long listening. It also comes in three colors: Red, blue and green. No color-switching mode just yet. The controller d-pad is made of soft polycarbonate and the wires are covered in TPE, which guarantees a tangle-free experience. I know right? Imagine the feeling of never having to deal with knots ever again. But what happens when the light runs out? Glow fully charges in just 30 minutes and can run for over eight hours. When it’s all juiced out, you can still use the headphones to listen to your music. Android, not Apple Before you throw us shade about it not being iOS-ready (yet), get this: Over 1.3 billion people in this world are Android users and 98% of the time, accessories are designed with Apple users primarily in mind. If you ask us, these cans are pretty much the angles that descended from sound heaven to finally save the ever deprived Android users. Now, how much would it cost you to own the world’s first smart headphones? Pre-selling just wrapped up and with around 40 days to go in Kickstarter, they’re way pass their target mark. For those who’ve ordered early, they snagged it for $127 and could expect shipment by July. If you want to get your hands on these bad boys, they’re now priced at $149. There are other nifty bundles available on their site, with discounted price for two pairs at $279 among other packages. So if you consider yourself a headphone freak or wouldn’t mind making a strong statement the next time you’re out, then better get yourself a pair of Glow now.
